Port-a-Cool System Donated

Oklahoma summers can be brutal. Temperatures in the 90s and 100s make it difficult for any cooling system to keep the indoors cool. Especially days like today.

Many Oklahoma municipal animal shelters use water-cooling systems to keep the kennel areas cooler, but they do not have the ability to maintain a specified temperature. So if the temperature gets too high, so do the kennels.

We are pleased to announce CAARE, Inc. has purchased a Port-a-Cool Cyclone 3000 for the Owasso Animal Shelter. This will help keep the kennel area cooler and more comfortable for all dogs at the shelter, but especially for older dogs and those breeds that have a difficult time breathing in the heat. The unit will help cool the kennels by 15-20 degrees.

CAARE, Inc. recently received a generous donation from Dogs Against Drugs, a non-profit organization who dissolved its 501(c)(3). CAARE, Inc. is very appreciative of the donation and the funds are being used to support the Owasso Animal Shelter and ultimately the community of Owasso.

If your pet should become lost and taken to the shelter, the Port-a-Cool will help keep your pet more comfortable until you pick them up. The unit will also keep pets that are looking for a new home more comfortable while they wait at the shelter and you more comfortable when visiting the pets.

When you are ready to add a pet to your family, we encourage everyone to visit your local animal shelter.

Imarc Tag Engraver Donated

We are pleased to announce CAARE, Inc. has purchased an IMARC Tag Engraver for the Owasso Animal Shelter.

CAARE, Inc. recently received a generous donation from Dogs Against Drugs, a non-profit organization that worked with training narcotic detection dogs and emphasized crime prevention in local schools. The Owasso Animal Shelter helped place homeless pets that were qualified for this program. Unfortunately, Dogs Against Drugs dissolved its 501(c)(3) because they are not a law enforcement agency and therefore unable to purchase training aids.

CAARE, Inc. is very appreciative of the donation and the funds will be used to support the Owasso Animal Shelter and ultimately the community of Owasso.

The tag engraver will enable the Animal Control Officers to:

• Provide ID tags when pets are adopted.
• When city tags are issued, they will engrave the back of the tag with owner information.
• When a pet is returned to an owner, the rabies tag or city tag will be engraved with owner information. If tags are not available or applicable, for a
minimal donation, the shelter will provide an ID tag before the pet leaves the facility.

Tagging your pet is an important part in keeping families and their pets together. Some city ordinances and dog parks require your pet to be tagged. The IMARC Tag Engraver will enable the Animal Control Officers to tag every pet that goes through the shelter.

We encourage everyone to support their local animal shelter. Animal Control Officers perform a tremendous service for lost pets and the community.
